Washing your topper highly depends on frequency of use and type of activity. If you use your piece daily, we recommend washing your topper every 2-4 weeks.

Once every two weeks:

• Apply a bit of hair bonding oil to the ends, we personally recommend the OGX coconut oil. Quantity of oil depends on the hair's condition. In the case of washing, apply a larger amount of oil to the hair.

Once a month:

• Use hair masks when it's time to wash the hair (after shampoo but before conditioner) and leave them on for 40-60 minutes. The longer you leave the mask in, the better. Avoid the lace, knots may come undone.

• Hair Bond Reconstruction:

1. Wash the hair with a sulphate free shampoo (follow instructions for washing toppers)
   
2. Do not apply conditioner; wait until damp (not wet) and saturate hair with a hair bond reconstruction treatment (K18/EPRES)
   
3. Dry only the lace of the cap with a hairdryer at a distance of 15cm.
   
4. Without rinsing, allow the piece to air dry completely on a wig stand.
   
5. Style as usual.

* If you are using EPRES, you can apply the product to dry hair.

• Ideally, toppers should rest on a wig stand/head mannequin in order to maintain the cap's shape. However, if you don't have one, you can store it in its satin bag on top of a few folded socks - and the hair braided!

• Always detangle the hair, ensure that the clips are free of hair and closed before storing.

• Do not store in a place exposed to direct sunlight or dust.

• For travel or emergencies, the satin bag or a more protective container are your best friends.

• If you're storing the topper for more than a week, apply a bit of coconut/argan/hair bonding oil to the hair and braid it to protect it.

• Always start from the tips and gradually work your way up to the roots.

• Use a detangling spray.

• If it's very tangled, dampen the ends and apply conditioner, leaving it on for 3-5 minutes before detangling. We recommend dividing it into sections and working through it gradually.

• It's a good idea to carry a mini comb with you in general—you never know what might happen!

• To create hairstyles, achieve a perfect straight look, or define curls, we recommend using a mannequin head. Secure it with several pins along the edge of the topper to keep it in place and to avoid stretching the mesh holes when styling.

• Divide the hair into sections and style them one by one.

• Always use a heat protectant spray before using heat tools on the hair.

• Use your heat tools at a maximum temperature of 180°C / 350°F.

• You can use hairspray, but sparingly - you should wash the topper to remove the product after use.

• When cutting your piece, make sure to be wearing it!

• If you want to dye your piece, we recommend going a darker color. All of our blondes and light brunettes have been processed, therefore, they should be tested on a small patch of hair to see how the color will react before applying to the whole piece.

• Use a heat-protective spray (if possible, one that also hydrates).

• We recommend braiding your hair and wearing a soft or silk interior hat since wind and sun exposure can damage it.

• It's advisable not to immerse your topper in the sea or pools, as saltwater/chlorine can harm the hair, color, and, in the worst case, cause the hair to slip inside-out of the cap.

• If it's unavoidable to dive into the sea or pool, try not to do it more than twice. Rinse the topper thoroughly with fresh water and apply a water-based leave-in conditioner or detangling spray to the ends. On that day, we recommend you wash the topper with shampoo and use a hair mask.

• The topper should not come into contact with sunscreen, tanning lotions, or products that may contain alcohol.

• If you have an older topper, it's better to use it for this occasion.

• Tie the topper into a braid or ponytail to minimize contact with sweat

• In case of high-intensity movement/activity, we recommend wearing a cap or using bobby pins to keep it in place

• If you don't like wearing a cap, consider using a headband or bandana to prevent sweat from coming into contact with your topper.

• Take the opportunity to give it an oil treatment with coconut/argan/hair bonding oil on the ends!

• If you have an older topper, it's advisable to use it for this occasion.
